Wylands Beginners Angling Sessions

Tuesday 7th August, 2012 (Time: 10am - 1pm & 1.30pm - 4.30pm)

Coaching Sessions will take place weekly on every Tuesday and Wednesday from 31st July 2012 – 29th August 2012.
Bookings are taken at reception and are payable in advance by cash or cheque. Details and booking forms are available on the website.
Please note for children under 12 years of age a parent or guardian must be present during the coaching session.

Description:

Anglers will be provided with tackle and bait for an introductory coaching session for coarse fishing. The session will include fish welfare, fish handling setting up of a pole/whip and how to play and land fish.
Participants will also be given a voucher for a free day ticket (up to the value of £12) for a return trip to Wylands Angling Centre.

Location information:

From the M25: Leave the M25 at Junction 5 and take the A21 towards Hastings. At John’s Cross, take the A2100 signposted to Battle (2nd exit off the roundabout). At the next roundabout turn left down Battle High Street. Continue past Battle Abbey on the right, straight over the mini roundabout past the Chequers Pub. At the bottom of the hill, take the first right into Powdermill Lane on the B2095. Continue on for 2.5 miles past the Powdermills Hotel on your right. Wylands is signposted on the left.

From the West or North West: Head towards Battle. 3 miles from Battle you will come to the village of Ninfield on the A259 Take the turning for Catsfield, opposite the Ninfield Arms. Drive through Catsfield until you come to a sharp left hand bend and triangle in the road. Turn right at the triangle into Powdermill Lane. Wylands drive way is located on the right, approximately 200 yards from a disused wood yard called Littlewood Fencing.

From the East or North East: Head towards Battle on the A2100 from Hastings. Continue down Battle Hill towards Lower Lake, past a Tesco Express and petrol station on the left. Turn left into Powdermill Lane on the B2095. Continue on for 2.5 miles past the Powdermills Hotel on your right. Wylands is signposted on the left

Refreshments:

Cafe Open 8am - 5pm. Recently refurbished it now includes an undercover seating area, providing hot and cold food and drinks. Participants are welcome to bring their own refreshments.

A short up and down hill walk from the car park to the lake.

Parking information:

Park in Field Lake car park and walk down the slope to Field Lake where coaching staff will be waiting.

General advice:

Field lake is the ideal lake for those starting out in angling and therefore popular with beginners/juniors or those who want to catch lots of small carp (1 - 4lb) with the chance of something a bit bigger.
