These sesions use match fishing (competition) as a vehicle to engage children in the sport of angling and have proved very succesful over the last forty + years! Past participants are now successful England Internationals including the event organiser and head coach Helen.
Wylands Beginners Angling Sessions

Anglers will be provided with tackle and bait for an introductory coaching session for coarse fishing. The session will include fish welfare, fish handling setting up of a pole/whip and how to play and land fish.
Participants will also be given a voucher for a free day ticket (up to the value of £12) for a return trip to Wylands Angling Centre..
Bathampton AA NFM Open Junior Day

Children arrive at Hunstrete Lakes at 10am for 30 minute outdoor class in fishing rules and angling ethics, followed by mentored practice time (kit provided), coaching and lunch. Afternoon fun competition, finishing with prize giving at 4pm.

Passing public will be encouraged to try their hand at Sea Angling. Fully qualified and licensed coaches will be in attendance teaching the correct use of equipment. Topics such as Conservation, marine life and the Environment will also be discussed.
