Limited to 10 young people who access the services of Autism Concern, Northampton
Competition using various tackle.
Learn about Water Safety Code & Risk Assessing,
Fish identification, welfare and anatomy.
Play and land fish safely.
Children and young people with autism will take part in a fishing match using various tackle. They will learn about match rules and fair play. They will also learn about safety around water.
Identify coarse fish, how to handle the fish and name the various parts of the fish's body.
Grendon Quarter Pond, Castle Ashby Fisheries
FROM Castle Ashby Village
Head for Whitstone / Cogenhoe and take first right after derestriction speed sign towards Grendon. The fishery lodge is half a mile between Scotland Pond and Grendon Quarter Pond
Look for Manor Road and follow this to Station Road. Pass Lakeside Farm on your right and look for a sudden left turn after a minor bridge. Take this turn and you will soon find the car park for Grendon Quarter Pond. The actual lodge is 200 yards further along the road.
Refreshments NOT available.
Refreshments will not be provided due to dietry needs. We will however provide water.
This will prove to be a learning experience for coaches and participants.
This event is aimed at children and young people with autism who access the services of Autism Concern Northampton.
The pegs are disability friendly.
Umbrellas will be available for shelter.
There are toilets at the cafe on Scotland Pond.
Tackle / Bait provided.
There is designated parking, however parents/carers will be dropping off only.
