Taster Day for All Ages

Tuesday 22nd August, 2017 (Time: 9.00am - 3.00pm)


Taster day using 4 Metre Whip fishing for beginners. Participants will fish for 20 minutes each.
Learn about Water Safety Code & Risk Assessing,
Fish identification, welfare and anatomy.
Play and land fish safely.


Children and young people will learn how to use a whip, play and land fish safely.
They will also learn about safety around water.
Identify coarse fish, how to handle the fish and name the various parts of the fish's body. Qualified, DBS coach supporting the activities

Abington Park Fishing Lake, Abington Park Northampton



Location information:

Abington Park is located between the A4500 and the A5095 in Northampton. There are 3 lakes situated closest to the A4500. The fishing lake is the middle lake closest to the children's playground area.

Refreshments NOT available.
Participation will only be for 20 minutes per person so no need for refreshments.
We will however provide water.

Fishing Coaching

  • Coaches licensed with the Angling Trust
