Langley Dam Junior fly fishing day

Sunday 18th August, 2019 (Time: 9am - 1.0pm (kids will fish the duration of the session))


Haltwhistle and Hexham District Junior Anglers are invited to a fly fishing day at Langley Dam.


All tackle and flies supplied. This will be a competition for the most fish caught, Prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd, as well as "person" of the match. This will be awarded to a child that may not have caught much, or anything, but really tried hard.

Location information:

Langley Dam is on the B6305 Hexham to Alston road. Approaching from Carlisle or Newcastle on the A69, turn off onto the A686 Alston road and continue south west for approximately 3 miles until you reach a telephone box, turn left (signposted Allendale) and continue for 1/2 mile until you reach Langley crossroads. Turn right here and continue for about 100 yards until you see the carpark entrance on your right, just past the house and lodge.

Coaching given if necessary. Participants fish for the total length of the session.

Additional comments:
This event is aimed at juniors in the Haltwhistle and Hexham catchment area. This is to encourage kids to get out fishing, and join clubs if they wish. Support will be given after the event if requested.
